I know these guys are everywhere but this is the first time they have been in my yard! I have sunflowers growing nuts from all the bird seed around the place and these guys took advantage of it today!!!

I get them every year, twice a year. First come the rainbow lorikeets & black cockies, then the corellas & galahs & 28's after. I took this pic last week because I don't have one of a 28!!

we still have one out of the four, but we hope to sell him/her soon, as we just don't have the room or time. I said to matt we should build an aviary and get a mate for him, but he said no

I heard that there are many small feral populations of 28's, port lincons and some hybrids I guess over in Sydney and Melbourne areas. All starting from escapee aviary birds. I hope they dont become pests over there as they can become a problem when their population explodes with good rains. Peter I said NO we cannot afford to have another pair of birds at the moment I am not made of money. Sheesh, lol.

Well what else are ya working for Matt - if not to provide for all your pets!! Thats the impression I get from all of mine! Go on - do it do it do it!!!! I have an old aviary here at home you can have for them until you can build something better!!!! Hey just a question - went to Bird Barn today to have a look and there was a bird at the front door - a port lincoln - looked just like the ones in my yard. Silly question but is that what these guys are - or 28s? Im confused ....

This photo is or a pure 28 parrot notice the light green brest This is a pure Port Lincoln parrot notice it has a yellow brest And this one is common in Sydney 28 x Port Lincoln parrot And the difference between cocks and hens are the heads and wings the hens have a dark brown head and yellow dots under there wings and the cocks have black heads and no yellow dots under there wings I hope this helps Sparkles

I know in WA the 28 population is alot smaller than most people think because we aslo have port lincons (more of them than the 28's) too & most people get them mixed up. It is nice to see a REAL 28
