to show this animal as a pedigree, like all pedigree's you will need papers. To show the animal you will need it's show name ie Autumn Silver Sparkle, Autumn being my stud name Silver sparkle being the animal's show name. I firmly believe that if an animal does not come with papers or is sold with papers then it is NOT a pedigree animal. While it may look great for what you may believe is it's breed the truth comes out in the offspring! Believe me been there done all of that

PS another thing I learnt the hard way, if an animal is of show quality then a breeder NEVER sells it to just anyone! they either owe that person big time or they sell it for a ridiculous price

Maybe if you tell the breeder that you intend on showing they may give up the papers. If they arent passing the papers on its really not worthy for the pedigree show table. Oh and it depends what breed. Longhair breeders may pass up a show quality cavy because they dont have the time to keep it in coat. For some breeds you can pry a showable from their cold dead hands. A tort &white breeder or dutch breeder is very unlikely to give up a showable and if they do its quite unlikely to beat what they already have on the table. Just because its showable doesn't mean its the best.
