Pete has just mentioned about having some rosella's and I am after peoples opinion on these birds . Mainly want to know how they are as mixed aviary , which ones should be separate all year round. Really any info would be great including pic's and links that will help.

Rosellas are aggressive birds like Red Rumps so they would not go well in a mixed aviary environment, they are much better kept in pairs with no other rosellas in neighbouring cages. Check out my bird pics to see a few different types.

Thank you for that. Will have to work out now the new aviary so they are not next to each other. Pete wants Pale heads and Eastern Rosella's. Do I need double wire?? between the flights??

hello i hadn't noticed this thread until today , a few weeks ago i asked people what birds would go well with weiro's and i was told rosella's , prinnie's and red rumps but to be careful with the red rumps , so maybe rosella's would be ok with other birds , its a pity the forum is so quiet at the mom otherwise u proberly could of got a few more opinions

We have kept one pair of rosellas in a very large aviary with 2 pairs of parrots bigger then them. I would be careful about having them in a mixed aviary, but dont have much experience with them

Also, I think the Idea to not have them next to each other in flights is A, because they will fight through the wire and hurt each other, and B because they will be so obesessed with each other they will continuly fly up and down and stress out as well as forget about breeding

I am thinking of putting werrios and princess in between the flights and I am not keen on breeding as there is not a call for birds in Albany. I dont even breed my werrios unless someone wants a handraised bird and then there must be 2 people who want them.
