The children at the school here (tiny tiny little school with only around 30 kids from kindy to grade 7!) are encouraged to treat animals nicely, the school keeps pet (axolotyls, gold fish, frogs etc) in hope that the kids will enjoy the animals and learn to look after and care for them appropriatley. Im trying to get the school to adopt some ex battery hens to show the school kids how an animal can be helped to live a normal life after being in undesirable circumstances. But so far no luck! hopefully they will come round but. we also take joeys and injured birds and whatever other animal we have into the school so that we can educate them about what to do when they find an injured animal and how they can help us to help all the other animals out there. The kids love the visits because even though they are from the country alot havent ever touched a roo or been close to one and alot arent allowed to have pets. The younger school kids also come out to the farm for pony rides and to see all the animals we have here.

I agree, anything we find freshly dead, wether it be kangaroo or sheep gets chopped up and fed to the cat (not the whole animal of course! we also supply alot of freshly dead kangaroo meat to the people that create fox baits. meat also gets used to catch the yabbies!!!!!
