does not matter what you put him with, all of his daughts WILL be opaline
I would suggest an opaline hen of some sort, that way males will come out opaline too

ok, I have no idea. I was thinking maybe a lutino? Or a pied blue? I can get a pied blue prob easier than a lutino and cheap to as my broter has a freind who breeds them.

if you put a blue pied to him, you will get the following:
FEMALES
opaline split blue split pied
MALES
Normal split opaline split blue split pied
Those birds would be good to breed from to produce opaline blue pieds!!! ;D
It also may change if the dad is split to something and you don't know he is

ok, wow, thats confusing! lol I gotta try to take all this in! Are opaline blue pieds good?? And to tell the difference between the females and male would be that the females are duller?? What colours would they be? So I might be able to tell the difference? Sorry so many questions!!!

if you were to pair the birds as above, males would be green with a red rump, females a lighter greeny colour with no red rump at all. the red is shown as soon as they feather up.

And if I paired him up with a lutino i would get lutino opalines right?? The Yellow with the red markings?? What would be a better pairing??

you would not get lutino opalines if you paired him with a lutino
you would get
FEMALES:
OPALINE
MALES:
NORMAL SPLIT OPALINE SPLIT LUTINO
as both opaline and lutino are sex-linked genes (similar to colour blind people, except in birds females have the XY and males have the XX)

This is sooo confusing! Why do they have to be so difficult! LOL So I guess pairing him with a blue pied would be the best bet??
