What size and shape nest box is best for rainbow lorikeets? My 2 decided that they'd do the wild thing in the middle of the loungeroon floor LOL. I don't know if this is their first time but I think I'd better get a next box put up for them.

They like a box about the same size or slightly larger than a weero box. The thing to remember with lorikeets is the sloppy droppings in the box, I use kitty litter on the bottom of the nestbox to help stop the box gettting too wet and mouldy.

i use the Z shaped box for all of my lorikeets and use a combo of Pheat moss and saw dust for nrsting material 50/50 mix ill post a pic of the box on the weekend

I prefur to use palm peat But im not sure about Coir peat !!!!

Eagle how often do you need to change the nesting material with that mix? When I was mixing coarse sawdust and pine shavings I had to change it about 2 times a week, got on my nerves no end.

I change it after each clutch if its needed (Dirty) If its still clean i do it after the breeding season
