Yup yup - I am honestly so excited its rediculous!! They have been laying eggs for months now but when the finches were in there they used to destroy their nests. The finches have since gone and within the month I now have this. I was stunned last night to look in the nest and see these little guys. Mum is one of the white canaries - not sure who dad is!! Need to do some reading up on canaries - not sure how their "colour system" works (gotta love the technical terms)!!!

Congratulations, I hope all goes well for you. I suggest feeding boiled eggs and egg and biscuit when they are rearing young, its helpful to get them off to a strong start. Matt

Excellent - thanks for that Matt! I have heaps of egg and biscuit in the cupboard because my eckies love to have it as a treat - and I have chooks so eggs are on tap!! Will make sure they get plenty to keep them strong for their babies.
