Tried of getting clear eggs, also known as 'Infertile eggs?' Well, Dr Harry Cooper has something to help us out. Below is a recipe to help increase a cock birds sperm count.
Mix 1 teaspoon of molasses, 1 or 2 drops of Betadine 3 or 5 drops of vitamin B complex In one litre of water
Supply this to the bird(s) for 6 to 8 weeks before they are used for breeding. The vitamin B complex liquid is hard to obtain and you might need to ask your local chemist to order it in for you. It is produced by a company called Bio Activ and is called Super B liquid complex.
When using this mix it is important to change the water every day and clean the drinking vessels. If you can not use the full litre each day, keep the mix in the fridge (lasts up to two weeks.) This mix contains sugar for eneregy, Betadine is Iodine, Iodine is important to produce sperm and vitamin B will also assist producing sperm.

No it would not matter if the hen had some, as she need that in her body too... having extra in the male will help him produce more sperm. I did research on the Iodine and vitamin B and all was good.

Thanks heaps for the tip LittleBudgie. My Eclectus and Sun Conures usually manage one infertile egg in each clutch - especially sad when ekkies only lay two eggs at a time! Time to let my clicking finger do the walking and find some vitamin B complex. Hopefully we'll get a few more

No I haven't tried the recipe, haven't the need with my birds yet... But yes I do believe it is Betadine the disinfectant as it has 10% Iodine and you are only putting a small amount in...
